University of Sarajevo campus urban regeneration project

The overall objective of the project is to support the comprehensive urban regeneration of the former army barracks in the centre of Sarajevo into the campus of the University of Sarajevo.

The expected positive impacts of the investment are:

• Urban regeneration of a large area within the wider city;
• Significantly improved capacities of UNSA by ensuring adequate space for many schools;
• The introduction of a comprehensive, programmatic and effective collaboration between the schools and within the UNSA.

Requirements

Key expert 1: Team Leader / Urban Planning Senior Expert

Qualifications and skills:

• University degree in architecture, urban planning, geography, urban development, urban design, spatial planning, or land-use economy or equivalent.
• Excellent command of English; knowledge of b/h/s will be an advantage.
• Full command of AutoCAD (or equivalent), Excel, Power point, Word and reporting tools; knowledge of specialized GIS based spatial planning and management software will be an advantage.

General professional experience:

• 12 years of working experience as urban planning, urban regeneration and public real estate projects development practitioner with experience in complex urban projects involving tertiary level education institutions, preferably including relevant projects in the South Eastern Europe region.
• Proven experience in the preparation of similar feasibility studies.

Specific professional experience:

• 7 years of working experience in urban planning as lead planner in master planning of larger complexes, preferably with experience in the development of educational complexes and university campuses.
• Experience on leading multi-disciplinary teams on urban planning projects (preferably at least 3 projects).
• Experience in leading preparation of master plans or large urban development projects, especially in the Western Balkans region, will be an advantage.

Key expert 2: Architectural Design Senior Expert

Qualifications:

• University degree in architecture or equivalent.
• Excellent command of English. Knowledge of b/h/s will be an advantage.
• Full command of AutoCAD or other specialized design software, Excel, Power point, Word and reporting tools; knowledge of specialized GIS based spatial planning and management software will be an advantage.

General professional experience:

• 12 years of working experience as lead architectural designer of complex facilities, including: faculties, schools, performance arts facilities, multi-functional conference/theatre/commercial buildings, hospitals, court houses, airports and mixed use transport interchange developments with gross area of at least 15,000 m2.
• Proven record as awarded author in complex architectural design projects; participation in design competitions and relevant awards will be considered as an advantage.

Specific professional experience:

• 7 years of working experience in managing/leading teams producing complete design documentation for complex facilities, as listed above.
• Experience in working on urban planning issues, architecture design or other jobs relevant to this TA operation in Western Balkans will be considered as an advantage
